My first professional job came at eight years old, when I landed a role in a national Broadway tour. From there, I performed on Broadway in New York City and in professional theater throughout the East Coast. From a young age, I was recognized for my focus, maturity, and work ethic—traits that many high-achievers share, even in childhood.
While I appeared successful and capable on the outside, I didn't fully understand the internal toll of a high-pressure lifestyle until adolescence. That’s when I began to feel the weight of perfectionism, high expectations, and emotional burnout—things I had unknowingly carried for years. Navigating that experience gave me a lasting insight into what it means to perform at a high level, whether that’s on stage, in school, in the office, or in daily life.
I went on to earn my bachelor’s degree in psychology because I’ve always been fascinated by people—how we think, what we feel, what we say (and don’t say), and how we grow. That curiosity eventually led me to pursue my Master’s in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling at UNC Chapel Hill. I'm now a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), combining both lived experience and professional expertise in my work.
While I continue to enjoy performing today, my primary passion lies in supporting people—especially high-achievers—find greater emotional freedom, resilience, and balance. I specialize in working with individuals who have external success, but who privately struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, overthinking, low self-esteem, or work/life imbalance. My clients include professionals, students, creatives, and gifted children who often carry both great strengths and hidden emotional burdens.
In addition to my work with adults, I have extensive experience supporting children and families. I’ve worked as a K–12 school counselor, preschool and elementary teacher, and child psychotherapist. I’m especially passionate about helping high-achieving or "gifted" children who may also experience anxiety, OCD, or ADHD. I believe childhood is a foundational time—not just academically, but emotionally—and I love helping young people gain the tools they need to thrive.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and compassionate. I draw from evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), while also incorporating creative and somatic techniques to meet each person where they are. I’m trained in SAFE EMDR and often use it to support clients working through anxiety, trauma, or performance-based stress. I’m also a certified Safe and Sound Protocol practitioner and have found it particularly effective for high-achieving, emotionally sensitive individuals.
I believe that therapy can benefit everyone—and that even the most capable people deserve support. I’m often described as warm, empathetic, and lighthearted, and I aim to create a space where clients can be real, explore their inner world, and move toward the kind of life they actually want to live.
